And so the story goes...
I went to a random dentist near my place cos the year's dental claim was ending and I had to go for my dental before the end of the year. Went for KFC on my way back then I was walking home.
As I was crossing the x-junction between McNair Road and Towner Road, I felt myself hit on the right leg and I got swept off the ground and then I landed on my arm and rolled a little, like 1 metre. Then I realised I was hit by a cab. Like fuck!
I got up and got to the side of the road. My elbow and big toe suffered some abrasion due to the fall (and breaking fall). My knee was a little sore but i felt that I could still walk. Cabby got off and started asking how I was. I told him I was fine. I really felt I was. Anyhow, he offered to send me home. When we reached, uncle asked me if I was ok, I told him I was but then I started moving my knee and it was sore as hell and I needed MC cover... So, I asked uncle to send me to TTSH.
At TTSH, my xrays were cleared by the ED doctor.. And I was sent home with painkillers. The next morning, the ED doctor called me telling me that the radiologist reported a little avulsion fracture on my knee. FuCK! I was asked to go back to ED to get a backslab. And an appointment was made for me to see an ortho. To get a same day appointment, I had to be A class. But anyway, it was money's worth, cos I got Mr Lai, the most popular and so they say the best knee surgeon in TTSH. So yah, while passing our department, boss saw me and made me wait in our pantry the afternoon appointment. Baowei was nice enough to help me get coffee and food. =) Oh yeah, and Evelyn got me a pillow to raise my leg, that was really nice too.
When I saw Mr Lai, he told me that my knee was relatively stable, there's a slight laxity on the lateral side, together with the avulsion fracture that could indicate a lateral collateral ligament injury. He said that the laxity feels like a stretch not a tear, which was really nice. And if it's the LCL injury, it'll repair itself in 6 weeks. But there's a query ACL injury. OMG! If it's ACL, then need surgical repair. So, ya, he ordered an MRI scan. I'm waiting to hear about my report. He took me off the backslab and ordered a very expensive knee brace for me.
Thanks everyone who's been sending me well wishes. And all those who's helped nurse me...
Please help me pray that there's no ACL tear.

Blog time!
The Singapore Marathon was a blast! First time I did a half marathon and boy was it good. The target time was 2 and a half hours but i allowed myself up to 2hours and 45 mins. I've trained for this, but I admit that I wasn't training too hard. And it was almost impossible to train during shift days, but hey! I tried. I ran at 10am in the morning before evening shifts and I ran at 11.30 at night after evening shifts. I tried running at 5pm before night shift too, but that left me feeling super tired for the night shift.
Anyway... Back to Wednesday, it was one of those rare chances to watch a UDS happen without Toh KL. And Peiting was there so boss asked me to go watch and learn how to do it. And then, god damn it... Peiting sneezed into my chest (yes, she can't sneeze into my face due to Y-axis limitations), but that was good enough to seed me with her bug. Then, I knew it was doomed. I went home that day and started popping Vit C like mad. Little symptoms showed but I guess the Vit C was keeping the full blown effect away... So I continued with my Vit C regime and trained.
Day before Race day: I was feeling quite ok. I carbo loaded like mad and Vit C loaded like mad. I rested really early and drank loads of water.
Race Day! Feeling good, squeezed my way to near the front to start the run nearer to the front pack so that it wouldn't be too squeezy. I didn't make it to the toilet cos it was too crowded, but that issue was settled in an unofficial male peeing point later. Run was really good, but my dumbass Crossroads headphones broke down at the 7km mark. There was only sound coming through the right channel. Dang... So I took off my headphones and ran without music. At the 10 km mark, I was out of strength, I was running too fast for my body to release my stored energy (yes, from all the fats all over me). And damn I should've gotten energy gels. I had no choice but to slow down to a walk. At the drinks station at 11km, there were bananas!!! Omg!! God sent! I hoot the banana and drank loads of water and ppoooFFF!! Strength to run again... I'm so going to train harder for my body to learn to release energy faster and I'm so going to get energy gels for my next run. So run run run... walk a little and then, the Adidas Official Pacers for 2hr and 30 mins went pass. I was like, if I had trained harder and wasn't a little sick and had some form of energy replenishment earlier, I would've been way ahead of 2hr and 30 mins. At the 17 km mark, I started feeling unwell, I felt like puking but kept holding back.
Then I ran all the way back to the finishing line, didn't stop... So many people were watching and I couldn't malu myself. Finally got back in 2hr and 47mins, need to wait for the official results, cos I didn't pass the start line at 0mins so need to wait for official results. I'm kinda happy with my result. It's a race against my own limits and yeah...
I puked 6 times after the race and it was until 6 hours later that I could finally drink or eat something without puking...
LAtest Update: My official nett timing was 2h:46m:28s (Fuck..................)
