Working on the SSR Council is tough work. All of it is on top of my work commitments in TTSH, pretty much means I'm just collecting more work. But why am I still bothered? Well, very fundamentally, I'm working for change in the community. I'm personally very disappointed with the state that radiography is in. Where radiographers are becoming button pushers and not actually doing an examination. In the UK, the orders come with indications and "Xray foot", they don't tell you to do AP and Lat, or DP and oblique, or Weight Bearing AP and Lat. The radiographer makes the decision based on the indications. Anyway...

My current project for the SSR is "A Rendezvous with SSR". There's lots of issues with the date and the communications involved. The date clashes with the SGH Dinner and Dance, and then, it's the weekend following Deepavali, which means our Hindu Radiographers and RTs will be busy visiting friends and relatives. AND! Charles Sturt students will be busy cramping for their exams... Urgh... And then, the publicity of this whole event's a bitch. Loads of people tell me that they haven't heard of the event, which is very unfortunate. So, I posted the info on all the social networking groups and sites that I have access to. Right now, I'm even contemplating if I should resort to Google Adsense. HAHA! Oh well, que sara sara...
