Wah, I just heard on radio that there's a character on Kung Fu Slam Dunk with the same Chinese name as my princess. Haha.
Chinese New Year's been a rather good one. The year of the pig has been a really nasty one for me. The very fact that I've sprained my ankle on the 3rd day of the year of the pig already says enough. So far, all the mahjong's been not too bad. Nett win, which is really nice, first time in many Chinese New Year (senseless) gambling sessions. Which brings me to another point.
When to Bernard's (yes my future in charge's) for mahong on the second night of CNY. His place is in Bukit Panjang! Goodness... FAR!! That aside, on the cab ride back, the cabby started a small talk with me. He was telling me that it's very bo hua to travel so far to gamble, win already oso cannot cover the travelling cost. Which is true, I spent all my winning plus a little more on the cab ride. But, then, the point in playing mahjong (at least to me) is not about gambling for money to spend, it's more of the social aspect and the brain training that comes along. Then the uncle was telling me that he plays mahjong with stakes of 1 dollar 2dollar. OMFG, that works out to $96 for a 5 tai zi mo. Then, he lost $300 plus on the first 2 days of CNY. Hmmm... Logically, how does one who earns around $2000 odd a month afford to lose a freaking $300 bucks? Sigh... Gamblers are mad...
