Today was dinner with two nurses. Steamboat on a rainy day is just sooooooo satisfying. Bugis Junction really changed quite a bit since the last time i took time to explore it. The new food court is open! It not sits on where Annex (or some other nonsense named place sits). It's super stylish now. And (But) there's pepper lunch express. "And" cos I like pepper lunch. "But" cos if i'm not there to eat pepper lunch, I'll still end up smelly like pepper lunch cos everyone's having pepper lunch and the smell is just so strong.

Oh, met two of my cute colleagues at Bugis Junction. I seem to meet one of them quite a bit. Even took a same flight with her before.

Work's been fun, having students around let me satisfy my desire to teach too. They are really good and fun company too...

Finally delivered mooncakes so darling's place just now. After briyani.

Anyway, on the way back from Pasir Ris, something happened. I was sitting on the left side of the upper deck, about 6 seats from the front. Out of nowhere, a heard a child scream. Then the next thing I saw was the kid grabbing his arm, crying at the busstop. Many, auntie uncles walked over, and took up his hand and looked at it, and that say don't know wat and walked away. Then one uncle started quarreling with the driver, and took out a video cam to video the show. AND, everyone kinda just forgot about the child. Like wtf... Then, the driver declared that the bus service has to be stopped and everyone needs to be chased onto the next bus. So fine... I alighted the bus along with say another 30 other passengers?

Then, everyone crowded around to watch the show where the driver tried to explain the situation and the uncle trying to make the driver admit his mistake. From there I found out that apparently that kid's wrist was caught between the door and the bin (or ezlink card reader) which acted like a lever to cause so much pain. I don't think the driver was really in the wrong, but hey, who knows, I didn't witness it.

Here's the interesting thing, while everyone was busy discussing all the shit, nobody cared about the kid. Some just walked over and touch touch the kid's hand trying to diagnose the problem. Like wth... How wished I had a portable xray machine. But anyway, I settled the boy down on the bus, offered him tissue, told him and everyone else to not move the poor child's hand anymore. Like don't worsen the injury. Then along came the ambulance and paramedics who put him on a splint and sent him to KK. I really wonder if I'm not in this line, will I even bother when everyone else just walked away. Guess I'll never know since I'm already in here.

Then, after some interviews with the response team from the bus company, I left. While on the bus, I started pondering. Radiographers really help doctors and everyone else see the insides of ones body. The doctors at KK will need us to tell him if there's a fracture or not.

"We help doctors see what they can't"

And for that, I really think we deserve much more respect and shouldn't be treated like dogs and get screamed at. Seriously...

Something devastating happened. Apparently Tai Tong Mooncake has been sold to someone who's not the old couple (that I used to know). I'm so sad! Every year, my mum buys the 猪仔饼 aka 猪笼饼(erm, suckling pig cookie in a cage for those who can't read Chinese) from Tai Tong. But this year, everything is different. No more Tai Tong. Sigh, I wonder if the new boss still makes 猪仔饼 or not. Sigh, even if they do, we must be able to find it. And even if we can find the outlet, still have to find out if they sell 猪仔饼.

Actually, 猪仔饼s are for children, they are shaped like little pigs and packed in coloured cages. It's actually just mooncake pastry without the fillings. The 猪仔饼 that Tai Tong sells are without the cage, and i'm too big a kid to be bothered about the cages. Those are just lame and a waste of plastic. I'm gonna miss the wonderful aroma of the baked pastry and the sweet after taste. I miss my 猪仔饼.

Mourn with me...

The weekend's over le, when to the Chinese Garden's for the Midautumn festival latterns. I've never been there before and I really think the place is rather cute. Only that maybe they should consider making better looking latterns.

Then I was on night shift for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Was quite fun. You'll really see all kinds of interesting shit at night.

How a Millionaire’s Brain Works…

A man walked into a bank in New York City one day and asked for the loan officer.

He told the loan officer that he was going to Philippines on business for two weeks and needed to borrow $5,000. The bank officer told him that the bank would need some form of security for the loan.

Then the man handed over the keys to a new Ferrari parked on the street in front of the bank. He produced the title and everything checked out The loan officer agreed to accept the car as collateral for the loan. The bank’s president and its officers all enjoyed a good laugh at the guy for using a $250,000 Ferrari as collateral against a $5,000 loan.

An employee of the bank then drove the Ferrari into the bank’s underground garage and parked it there. Two weeks later, the guy returned, repaid the $5,000 and the interest, which came to $15.41.

The loan officer said, “Sir, we are very happy to have had and this transaction has worked out very nicely, but we are a little puzzled. While you were away, we checked you out and found that you are a multi millionaire. What puzzles us is, why would you bother to borrow “$5,000″.

The millionaire replied: “Where else in New York City can I park my car for $15.41 and expect it to be there when I return”

Well thats how the rich stay rich, they know a lot more about Money Management. All the millionaires I have met in my life were penny wise. Look after your cents and the Dollars will look after themselves.

Went skating at ECP with some friends today. The girls decided to walk in the end, like duh... Then Alvin took blades, but after skating a bit, he decided to change to bike. Well, skating was still very fun. Simply love the speed and rush. And weaving in between the bloody messy human traffic. Nice thing is that I didn't fall today.

I bought my new contact lens solution today. The Solo Care Aqua by CIBA Vision. Hope it's good.

I'm in OT for the week. It's fun to work in the OT, spending long hours II-ing for one case, or running around the different OTs sure beats cheonging cases in the A n E or Outpatients. It's like the week to "slow down" and breath...

Been very rainy lately, which sucks big time. That reminds me that I have yet to open up my umbrella to dry. Oh shit...

That's all folks...
