Today's tiramisu making went well. With darling's help of course. The macaroni and cheese I attempted to make failed quite miserably... I'm going to search for another recipe. Must find one good at good ol Kenny's...

Watched the maid last night, it wasn't as scarey as i thought. The story line was quite predictable. Still, I was pretty well freaked out. Really good to have a ghost movie that's close to the world we live in.

Anyway, the mission to match up two of my friends was totally busted and we all had a nice big laugh after that.

Really exciting about making tiramisu on Saturday. Bought my ingredients already. I really love making deserts and cakes. Let's hope I can get the desired effect. Really damn sad about something bad that happened today. In fact, quite alot of things make me damn turned off but sigh... wat can I do about it?

Nothing...

Suck Thumb...

I'm going to tell an NS story of mine, I don't think I've told this story on my blog before. During my NS, after my BMT and before my Public Health Assistant course, I was posted at School Of Millitary Medicine at Ulu Pandan Camp. It was the ultimate old old british camp kind of camp. Anyway, I was named a Temporary Support Staff while waiting for the commencement of my course. There, we swept floors, drains, washed vehicles, sleep sleep sleep...

Well, of the many many spots we were made to sweep, there was this spot under a couple of huge trees that was the worst. There were hundreds of dried leaves on the road waiting to be swept up. Under those trees were the favorite of the seargants. Well, the story goes, we spend like an hour sweeping up all the leaves, slowly, leaf by leaf, the road gets cleaner and cleaner. Finally, after the combined effort of 5 men, the road is clear. We take a seat on the curb side, looking at the fruits of our labour, a nice clean leafless road. Then a breeze comes along, making the moment of victory all so much sweeter. When we open our eyes... The road is filled with leaves again! The road can NEVER be leafless for long enough for us to slack. I bet the good guys like Jun Yuen, Qinli, the PMB guys would have had the same experience.

Moral of the story? Haiz, I feel like my life is just like the sweeping leaves story. Quizes, quizes, project, tests, more more more... Sigh, non stop man. I've already lost track of what I've done man. Life is so stressful, but well, Victorians are pressure cookers. We work well under extreme pressure. Problem is, I don't have time for a social life. I'm not a girl, I shouldn't say this, but I really feel damn bad to have not met my good old mates. People like Kok, Laiping, Alvin, the JC class guys. Didn't even have enough time to meet Lindy and Jeremy when they came back to Singapore for their short breaks. So sianz...

If I'm a Sim (like in The Sims). My sleep meter is like permanantly red, my social bar is maintained by baobei and school mates... oh man... i wanna eat wantan mee...

What a day it was. Was really really tired all day long. Slept at 2 plus doing the slides, that ended up being heavily face lifted. But it was for the better, so I'm ok with it. Some other co-ordination problems along the way. Not solved, doubt it ever will.

Got a couple of massages today. Learnt many tricks watching and asking the PT students. My right shoulder is so relaxed now. But the left shoulder is quite sore, maybe the right shoulder very slack after the massage. Oh yah, the massages was at this fair which was an elective project. I'm not naming the elective cos I can't spell it. Wooo... The PTs and OTs are good. But I don't think I'll be visiting them again... No more massages for me... I'll stick to it until the tide changes.

Cheem huh?

Hmmm... Some pig said something bad to a poor girl. WTF does he hope to achieve...?

Been a while huh?

Missed me?

Well, I've been online quite alot, just didn't bother to write down my thoughts. Or is it, I have no thoughts. Anyway, this month's problem is finally over, things have revert back to normal and I'm safe till the next month.

Met up with the JC class today. Everyone looked fine. We were all happy and there are like graduates in the group already. I sincerely congratulate them, but I still feel sianz for being a guy having to go through NS. And not making it into uni. But hey! Looking at Eileen and Yuki, the two poor girls looking for jobs, I feel glad that job searching will not be a problem after I finish my diploma. Siew Wen is working in NYP now, but she's looking forward to starting her path towards her PhD.That got me thinking about the future, like getting a degree, maybe masters. Hmmm.... But in Singapore's field, what for? Haiz...

Anyway, there'll be the Psycho project presentation. I hate presentation...

Hmmm... It's been a really unhappening public holiday. Didn't go anywhere, just stayed home all day to study and watch a little bit of TV.

Happy National Day!

Yup, National Day is never complete without watching the parade. The parade, as lame and unchanging as it is, is something I'll never miss watching. This year's parade was slightly different cos it was at the Padang. Noticed something, both Mr Lee Kuan Yew and Mr Lee Hsien Loong don't wear a black belt along with their white PAP uniform like every other PAP minister and members of Parliment. I guess THEY are special...

Hmmm... Went Dim suming with Alvin this morning. At Red Star, shiok siah, missed only good thing, that was the egg tarts. They were out of the oven too late lah. (There's a sentence construction problem, but heck)

Anyway, my grandma is in hospital. Query myocardial infaction.

Oh ya, main purpose for today's post is to share my study method. This is to dispell the school of thought that "Chun Meng don't need to study to pass in exams".

Well, this method was thought to me back a Sec 2 classmate. He's Risiandi, an Indonesian, the only not screwed up Indo I've known in my life. Well, he read in a book that studies show that an average person can study with optimal attention for about 45minutes. And after that, a rest is essential to rest the brain, allow time for the brain to process the info and be ready for more. After years of self talking and experimenting, I've found that my max attention span is about 40 mins.

So when I study, I'll study for 40 mins and by then, I'll feel like nothing is going in anymore. Then I'll take a 15 mins break. I'll walk around, look for food and all sorts of things. Then I'll be back at the desk studying after the break. This cycle repeats, with each studying time span getting shorter, that's because people do get tired. After several cycles of studying, break, studying, break... The brain will eventually be so saturated that nothing will go in. For me, that's 5 cycles maximum! But that was only during the A Levels. And ha! I can only do five cycles max for a day. After that, I'll just relak and sleep.

Other things, I do,

1) I time my coffee. Cos coffee is effectively effective for 3 hours and takes half an hour to kick in

2)I drink loads of water. I don't know why but I drink alot as I think. Maybe it's the hydrostatic pressure.

3)Eat eat eat.

4)I keep my room super bright, only study at my desk.

5)I like to put my foot on the table.

Those are not studying methods. Just my studying style. Said all those to let people out there know my studying ritual. Hey peepz, i'm mortal! I got study one...

Finally! I've gotten my hair coloured... Been looking for the time and the strength to move my butt. It has finally happened... And I quite like the colour.

Darling got a hair cut also. Total new style. Refreshing look! But I'm still not very used to it...
