Went for dim sum at Chin Swee Road, with Alvin, in the morning yesterday. The food was good, much much better then I've expected. It's in a chinese restaurant called Red Star. This is the kind of restaurant that our parents have their wedding banquet in. The old school stage, the dragon and phoenix with "light bulb" eyes, red carpet, old old old staff. And to top it all off, a floor manager about 60 years of age, in a nice black suit. OLD SCHOOL! With this perfect old school setting, the dim sum was full of the good ol times goodness. The egg tarts was good, the egg part is soft, tasting totally eggy, and the crust was flaky and crispy. Breakfast, oh breakfast, was would you be without this amazingly textured egg tart. Then there were the char siew tarts, crispy and paired with the soft, tender and sweet char siew inside. Refreshing! The chee cheong fun was anoter highlight. The soft translucent chee cheong fun easily showed off the generous amount of shrimps and scallops inside. The sause that came along made the chee cheong fun that looked perfect, taste perfect!
After the good breakfast, Alvin and I headed over to Plaza Singapura to watch Ladder 49. Good show, loads of fire and explosion. It's another typical hero show, when a team mate dies and they get stronger. Ya da ya da.. I wouldn't tell you the ending. Go watch it...
