The last time I went to the doc, the lady told me i'm 100 degree long sighted, ie over corrected. But that's the correct thing cos while my eyes recover, there'll be a lost of about 50 to 100 degree. Anyway, it's still blurry, cannot make it. Double image on everything nearish. Work was like shit today. I couldn't follow the guide wires. Had to guesstimate my way through. Positioned my ROI based on experience. No, I was not malpracticing, cos I could see the caths, sometimes, it's impossible to see wires even with perfect vision. Ah well, eyes are getting a tat better everyday, but just not fast enough. It was really a bad move. Then there was this dude who said "In this kind of economic climate, the government shouldn't spend this kind of money".&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I've been quite disturbed by this comment and I really cannot tahan and have to make some clarifications here. During a recession, the governments SPEND! This move could keep many many many jobs. Think about the dude who designs the boards, the dude who does the planning of what info goes on the board. How about the metal cutter, the wielders and printers? Then, there are the logistics people, the installers and even the cleaning company's cleaners. Dude, many many jobs are created or preserved here. In the current economy, if the government or the rich don't spend, then the jobs of those way down in the food chain will be lost. Think about it. Don't make such a stupid comment to piss me off. Anyway, you pay so much tax, isn't a nicer and non-rusting information board (with more relevant info) nice? They make Singapore that much prettier, which will raise the image of SG and then, more people will come to invest eh?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Dude... Well, I'll say that maybe the policy makers are being very bias. Well, it's a fact that smoking related diseases like lung cancer, COPD and emphysema are not the top killers in the world. Seriously... In my most recent assignment, I've gone through a lot of such health statistics stuff and hey, cardiovascular diseases are the top killers in the world. Isn't is weird that social propaganda only covers smoking and not so much on unhealthy foodstuff? Top reasons for heart diseases are high fat diet, high cholesterol, obesity and sedentary lifestyles.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Hmmm... high fat, high cholestrol, high calorie foods... Sounds like char kway teow, laksa, prata, nasi lemak, KFC, Macdonalds, BK, LJS, Old Chang Kee, Hagen Daaz. Steamboat buffets... Shouldn't these foods get the "fear-factor" imagery warning signs also? Imagine picture of a 200kg guy sitting next to the red-hair clown carrying a health advisory sign. How about a "high-fat content" sign sticking on the Char Kway Teow stalls? Maybe "Over-eating warning" signs outside buffet (international buffets, steamboat) outlets? What about red canned drink carrying "High sugar"?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Oh well, maybe you'll think that I've picked up smoking, the answer is no, I still hate cigarette smoke and smokers. As much as I like fattening foods, I'm constantly reminding myself to shy off those food. Anyway, my point is, maybe we should impose those signs, then maybe I'll have more will to avoid those junk foods. And help the more ignorant population also.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Got these thoughts after watching "Thank you for smoking". Nice movie.&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6892771-2141054474154085384?l=nuhc.blogspot.com' alt='' type='text'></title><content type='html'>And so the story goes...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I went to a random dentist near my place cos the year's dental claim was ending and I had to go for my dental before the end of the year. Went for KFC on my way back then I was walking home.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As I was crossing the x-junction between McNair Road and Towner Road, I felt myself hit on the right leg and I got swept off the ground and then I landed on my arm and rolled a little, like 1 metre. Then I realised I was hit by a cab. Like fuck!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I got up and got to the side of the road. My elbow and big toe suffered some abrasion due to the fall (and breaking fall). My knee was a little sore but i felt that I could still walk. Cabby got off and started asking how I was. I told him I was fine. I really felt I was. Anyhow, he offered to send me home. When we reached, uncle asked me if I was ok, I told him I was but then I started moving my knee and it was sore as hell and I needed MC cover... So, I asked uncle to send me to TTSH.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;At TTSH, my xrays were cleared by the ED doctor.. And I was sent home with painkillers. The next morning, the ED doctor called me telling me that the radiologist reported a little avulsion fracture on my knee. FuCK! I was asked to go back to ED to get a backslab. And an appointment was made for me to see an ortho. To get a same day appointment, I had to be A class. But anyway, it was money's worth, cos I got Mr Lai, the most popular and so they say the best knee surgeon in TTSH. So yah, while passing our department, boss saw me and made me wait in our pantry the afternoon appointment. Baowei was nice enough to help me get coffee and food. =) Oh yeah, and Evelyn got me a pillow to raise my leg, that was really nice too.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;When I saw Mr Lai, he told me that my knee was relatively stable, there's a slight laxity on the lateral side, together with the avulsion fracture that could indicate a lateral collateral ligament injury. He said that the laxity feels like a stretch not a tear, which was really nice. And if it's the LCL injury, it'll repair itself in 6 weeks. But there's a query ACL injury. OMG! If it's ACL, then need surgical repair. So, ya, he ordered an MRI scan. I'm waiting to hear about my report. He took me off the backslab and ordered a very expensive knee brace for me.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Thanks everyone who's been sending me well wishes. And all those who's helped nurse me...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Please help me pray that there's no ACL tear.&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6892771-7577949783656407663?l=nuhc.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://nuhc.blogspot.com/feeds/7577949783656407663/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=6892771&amp;postID=7577949783656407663' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/6892771/posts/default/7577949783656407663'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/6892771/posts/default/7577949783656407663'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://nuhc.blogspot.com/2008/12/and-so-story-goes.html' title=''/><author><name>NuhC</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='http://img2.blogblog.com/img/b16-rounded.gif'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6892771.post-7517453705224799335</id><published>2008-12-08T13:29:00.003+08:00</published><updated>2008-12-08T14:11:16.058+08:00</updated><title type='text'></title><content type='html'>Blog time!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Singapore Marathon was a blast! First time I did a half marathon and boy was it good. The target time was 2 and a half hours but i allowed myself up to 2hours and 45 mins. I've trained for this, but I admit that I wasn't training too hard. And it was almost impossible to train during shift days, but hey! I tried. I ran at 10am in the morning before evening shifts and I ran at 11.30 at night after evening shifts. I tried running at 5pm before night shift too, but that left me feeling super tired for the night shift.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Anyway... Back to Wednesday, it was one of those rare chances to watch a UDS happen without Toh KL. And Peiting was there so boss asked me to go watch and learn how to do it. And then, god damn it... Peiting sneezed into my chest (yes, she can't sneeze into my face due to Y-axis limitations), but that was good enough to seed me with her bug. Then, I knew it was doomed. I went home that day and started popping Vit C like mad. Little symptoms showed but I guess the Vit C was keeping the full blown effect away... So I continued with my Vit C regime and trained.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Day before Race day: I was feeling quite ok. I carbo loaded like mad and Vit C loaded like mad. I rested really early and drank loads of water.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Race Day! Feeling good, squeezed my way to near the front to start the run nearer to the front pack so that it wouldn't be too squeezy. I didn't make it to the toilet cos it was too crowded, but that issue was settled in an unofficial male peeing point later. Run was really good, but my dumbass Crossroads headphones broke down at the 7km mark. There was only sound coming through the right channel. Dang... So I took off my headphones and ran without music. At the 10 km mark, I was out of strength, I was running too fast for my body to release my stored energy (yes, from all the fats all over me). And damn I should've gotten energy gels. I had no choice but to slow down to a walk. At the drinks station at 11km, there were bananas!!! Omg!! God sent! I hoot the banana and drank loads of water and ppoooFFF!! Strength to run again... I'm so going to train harder for my body to learn to release energy faster and I'm so going to get energy gels for my next run. So run run run... walk a little and then, the Adidas Official Pacers for 2hr and 30 mins went pass. I was like, if I had trained harder and wasn't a little sick and had some form of energy replenishment earlier, I would've been way ahead of 2hr and 30 mins. At the 17 km mark, I started feeling unwell, I felt like puking but kept holding back.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Then I ran all the way back to the finishing line, didn't stop... So many people were watching and I couldn't malu myself. Finally got back in 2hr and 47mins, need to wait for the official results, cos I didn't pass the start line at 0mins so need to wait for official results. I'm kinda happy with my result. It's a race against my own limits and yeah...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I puked 6 times after the race and it was until 6 hours later that I could finally drink or eat something without puking...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;LAtest Update: My official nett timing was 2h:46m:28s (Fuck..................)&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6892771-7517453705224799335?l=nuhc.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://nuhc.blogspot.com/feeds/7517453705224799335/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=6892771&amp;postID=7517453705224799335' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/6892771/posts/default/7517453705224799335'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/6892771/posts/default/7517453705224799335'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://nuhc.blogspot.com/2008/12/blog-time-singapore-marathon-was-blast.html' title=''/><author><name>NuhC</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='http://img2.blogblog.com/img/b16-rounded.gif'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6892771.post-3925763075859117938</id><published>2008-11-25T23:18:00.002+08:00</published><updated>2008-11-25T23:23:42.526+08:00</updated><title type='text'></title><content type='html'>My phone is a complete goner! OMG, it was the opening night and boy was it good. Well, we didn't know it was the opening nite and we turned up a little underdress, not jeans and tee-shirt, no worries. Avenue Q is like Sesame Street with an adult theme! Very good adult jokes and watching the puppets get it on was really really amusing AND entertaining... "The Internet is for porn"&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Learnt a new word.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Schadenfreude: is enjoyment taken from the misfortune of someone else.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I love this word. All of it is on top of my work commitments in TTSH, pretty much means I'm just collecting more work. But why am I still bothered? Well, very fundamentally, I'm working for change in the community. I'm personally very disappointed with the state that radiography is in. Where radiographers are becoming button pushers and not actually doing an examination. In the UK, the orders come with indications and "Xray foot", they don't tell you to do AP and Lat, or DP and oblique, or Weight Bearing AP and Lat. The radiographer makes the decision based on the indications. Anyway...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My current project for the SSR is "A Rendezvous with SSR". There's lots of issues with the date and the communications involved. The date clashes with the SGH Dinner and Dance, and then, it's the weekend following Deepavali, which means our Hindu Radiographers and RTs will be busy visiting friends and relatives. AND! Charles Sturt students will be busy cramping for their exams... Urgh... And then, the publicity of this whole event's a bitch. Loads of people tell me that they haven't heard of the event, which is very unfortunate. So, I posted the info on all the social networking groups and sites that I have access to. Right now, I'm even contemplating if I should resort to Google Adsense. HAHA! Oh well, que sara sara...&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6892771-7436280250462691989?l=nuhc.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://nuhc.blogspot.com/feeds/7436280250462691989/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=6892771&amp;postID=7436280250462691989' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/6892771/posts/default/7436280250462691989'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/6892771/posts/default/7436280250462691989'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://nuhc.blogspot.com/2008/10/working-on-ssr-council-is-tough-work.html' title=''/><author><name>NuhC</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='http://img2.blogblog.com/img/b16-rounded.gif'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6892771.post-2342487456495078123</id><published>2008-10-21T22:55:00.001+08:00</published><updated>2008-10-21T23:03:22.637+08:00</updated><title type='text'></title><content type='html'>It poured again. Damn! And I'm night shift later! My temperature was 37.5 yesterday, slight fever, then 8 panadols later, it's 37.4. Oh man... My night shift is going to be terrible. Hope the morning rounds won't be too toxic. And hope I can maybe rest a bit. Through all my years of fighting obesity, there's always a cock reason that'll just crop up to stop all efforts. This time round, I started my running regime. Just when I'm up to better able to stride (well) for 7km, I've fallen sick. Previously, I've kena knee injuries, sprained ankles and all that shit. Oh ya, I've lost 3kgs since I started this recent regime. Aiyah... &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And I try to refrain from exercise 1 week after recovering from an illness, there are too many stories of sudden deaths and shit. Argh!!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My theory is that the break down of (stored) fats in the body creates lots of toxic by-products and oxidants. So basically, this will screw up my immune system and thus, I'm always falling sick when I start losing weight! Argh... I've uped my fruits intake and vit c intake liao, but still like that.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'm doomed to being a pear all my life....&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6892771-7111421559170636275?l=nuhc.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://nuhc.blogspot.com/feeds/7111421559170636275/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=6892771&amp;postID=7111421559170636275' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/6892771/posts/default/7111421559170636275'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/6892771/posts/default/7111421559170636275'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://nuhc.blogspot.com/2008/09/im-sick-damn-and-im-night-shift-later.html' title=''/><author><name>NuhC</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='http://img2.blogblog.com/img/b16-rounded.gif'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6892771.post-5189134098008145929</id><published>2008-09-23T23:23:00.002+08:00</published><updated>2008-09-23T23:33:19.558+08:00</updated><title type='text'></title><content type='html'>Reservist was really nice. Just slacked and waited to rush. The shooting was good, I felt that I shot well, really happy about my shooting results. Met many new and interesting boys in the unit. And I'm so amazed with the CSH's capability.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I watched Mama Mia! Such a nice show! The good old muscial movie genre is really making a comeback! And I love such shows! So happy and dancy. Like Bollywood! And the ABBA songs were really good too. But there was the lady sitting next to us was singing away, like wth.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Monday was Huishan and Hee Shen's wedding. Huishan has always been so shy about her relationship with Hee Shen, and the wedding was prolly the second time I saw them holding handS! Such a nice wedding, though it's not a nice occasion to be at if one has a broken heart. We cam whored like mad! I've finally figured what's the magic about the TTSH radiology team. We are just so young and fun loving and close! It's really very different from say SGH or NUH. The people here are mad! Haha! Will be posting the photos on Facebook soon. Well, good mah, then I can concentrate on SMRC, but no... Actually, I had my LSBU lessons with Prof. Lovegroove at all the strange and godforsaken places. So, 5pm to 8pm were lessons, then 9pm to 8am the next day were my night shifts. So I was going on and on for like 15hours a day. That was really tiring and the only decent sleep I got was on Thursday night. Kind of.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Then came the Gala Dinner and the SMRC. I feel really fortunate to be serving the Council. Although I was like a sitting duck with my really bad schedule, so I couldn't help much with the prep work. I managed to make myself really useful by helping to run the show, sort out the nitty gritty and you know, socialize... The dinner was graced by His Excellency President S.R. Nathan. He turned out to be a really nice person. We had a nice little chat in the holding room with him and yah, really pleasant guy. I love his job. I only stole like one bit of the banquet food from my dear TTSH colleague. And we took some really nice TTSH group photos. Oh yah, Liping and I even had to meet and greet and usher our dear NHG and TTSH double CEO from the foyer to the ballroom. Really nice experience! Nice person. Well, I feel that the night was a really nice one, cozy and really filled with "family warmth". The conference was really interesting also, I can't say all the papers were good, but I sure enjoyed MOST of them and the technical glitches were totally avoidable. But oh well, things sort themselves out anyway. *Just a note, most projectors are 1024 pixels across at the most, that's about the pixel width of a 3megapixel camera. So, seriously, your 24 powerpoint slides should not be 65.7mb big. COMPRESS the damn pictures! Anyway, I still think that the Dinner and the SMRC was a really good peak.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So where's the bad part? Well, now's the bad part, I can't sleep! Argh! Work's at 8.30am later!&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6892771-7301464688795450121?l=nuhc.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://nuhc.blogspot.com/feeds/7301464688795450121/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=6892771&amp;postID=7301464688795450121' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/6892771/posts/default/7301464688795450121'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/6892771/posts/default/7301464688795450121'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://nuhc.blogspot.com/2008/09/crazy-week-with-one-hell-of-good-peak.html' title=''/><author><name>NuhC</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='http://img2.blogblog.com/img/b16-rounded.gif'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6892771.post-3830202429293815284</id><published>2008-08-28T22:41:00.002+08:00</published><updated>2008-08-28T22:47:22.602+08:00</updated><title type='text'></title><content type='html'>Rain rain rain... Run run run.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Firstly, the rain's been making me wet and sticky, which is really irritating. I ran the 10km race for the Army Half Marathon. It was good, the timing was satisfactory only, not up to my target yet. I was quite disappointed with the lack of signs indicating the distance to finish, and there was a REALLY tiny bottle neck where I had to slow down to a walk! So irritating!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Anyway, that aside, darling and I nearly went to the bird park on Saturday, but heng we decided not to, cos it poured like the skies were lao sai-ing.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Anyway, the SMRC and the 50th anniversary dinner of the SSR will be coming up. Been kept busy trying to figure things out. And I really need to catch up with my sleep, which I really need to now. Good night.&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6892771-3830202429293815284?l=nuhc.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://nuhc.blogspot.com/feeds/3830202429293815284/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=6892771&amp;postID=3830202429293815284' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/6892771/posts/default/3830202429293815284'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/6892771/posts/default/3830202429293815284'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://nuhc.blogspot.com/2008/08/rain-rain-rain.html' title=''/><author><name>NuhC</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='http://img2.blogblog.com/img/b16-rounded.gif'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6892771.post-4054718567353405367</id><published>2008-08-07T23:24:00.002+08:00</published><updated>2008-08-07T23:32:20.256+08:00</updated><title type='text'></title><content type='html'>I just finished 2 shifts. And damn did I order myself a good bed today. In the light of my mid year bonus and that my current mattress is losing it's support and such, it's time to get a new one. This new one cost $1550 with the frame. So expensive, but I really hope this will help improve my sleep and prevent back problems for me. It's not really because of post holidays inertia, but more of my illness. I've been down with really nasty food poisoning. I went like 20 times over 3 days. It was really mad. And just when I thought I'm ok to go eat normal food again, I JUST went 3 times. Alamak! I don't want soft diet anymore...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But seriously, staying away from good and unhealthy food is not something I'm too good with. Oh man... Singapore Bay Run coming up! I'm not too bothered with the colors for now.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Hmm, I've gotten back from my really nice Egypt trip, Egypt is such a beautiful country with rotten traffic (in Cairo). It really has this magical charm, that made me feel really really small. Those Egyptians have been extremely developed and advance for their era, 5000 years ago! Really loved the Pyramids, the Sphinx the temples and the Nile. And NO, we did not ride a camel.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Work's been very sian with the post holiday inertia but still managable, I'm like falling ill, down with food poisoning. And this idiotic kid sneezed onto my arm yesterday while i was in a lift. I felt lots of mucus and saliva the dorsum of my arm. And the fucking parents didn't make the kid apologize. And that kid was wearing a spiderman suit! Wth! What happened to "with great power comes great responsibility?"&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;School's really good too. Scored satisfactory marks for both my group and individual assignments. I must admit that I didn't take alot of effort to follow the weekly sessions, but then again, it's my work commitments. However, I did take time to read and read up and understand and digest the lessons. And apply the knowledge to my assignments, which paid off. I'm glad I'm no longer in the swallow-and-regurgitate Singaporean education system, which I'm really hopeless at! Tang 2006)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Work work... I'm tired man. Really tired, when I'm not working, I'm trying my best to catch up with my school work. Well, anyway, I'm really not complaining, I do feel sad about Myanmar and China. So I guess I'm not the worst off. Also, our dear ol Mrs Lee Kuan Yew. I really can't remember her face very well, but I do remember that she wears alot of cheong sums.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Lots of horrifying thing ongoing in this May. One of those would probably be my lonely-Baobei-not-with-me birthday. This birthday is sad, not just because darling won't be around, also because I'm turning 25. That's a quarter of a century and about the one third mark of a man's life expectancy. Urgh...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Anyway, that aside, a chain of unhappy events happened yesterday. It somehow feels very similar this incident that happened to me when I was very young. I remember going to the market with mum and I saw this wind-up racing horse toy that will gallop upon release of the wind and I really liked. I think my brother liked it also. We asked really hard for it and after much persuasion my mum finally bought it. When we got home, we played with the new toy like there was no tomorrow. Really enjoyed and loved the toy. Then I can't remember what happened in between, but the next bit of memory that I have of it is my brother picking it up and throwing the damn thing across the hall, smashing the toy into pieces. I was devastated, and frankly, I still remember the extreme sadness that I experienced. Till now, I still tell myself that if I see a similar toy, I will buy it. Till now...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;References:&lt;br /&gt;Jeremy Tang (2006) Perth is a boring place [Online] Available from http://perthisaboringplace.blogspot.com/2006_01_01_archive.html (Accessed 18 May 2008)&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6892771-332988456832573611?l=nuhc.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://nuhc.blogspot.com/feeds/332988456832573611/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=6892771&amp;postID=332988456832573611' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/6892771/posts/default/332988456832573611'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/6892771/posts/default/332988456832573611'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://nuhc.blogspot.com/2008/05/life-sucks-lifes-not-fair-shit-happens.html' title=''/><author><name>NuhC</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='http://img2.blogblog.com/img/b16-rounded.gif'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6892771.post-1940660979234910385</id><published>2008-05-14T18:28:00.001+08:00</published><updated>2008-05-14T18:29:22.449+08:00</updated><title type='text'></title><content type='html'>I'm drowning in work again. Anyway, that aside, CT Scanning is actually rather depressing. Seeing metastases of cancer from organ to organ really really constantly reminds me of death and how lan lan life is. I get patients with stroke in their 30s and shit like that everyday. Really makes me depressed. Really don't know how long I'll take to get used to it, wonder if I ever will. Man....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Life's a bitch, and then you die.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;After all the shit one lives through, all one gets is death. This thought really drives me mad. Which then leads to me thinking about my job to help people and to provide "insight" into a patient's body to help in treatment planning and such. This job doesn't earn that much money but I guess, I'm earning much much more than many of my peers in terms of life experiences. Maybe through this, I'll attain Nirvana sooner than everyone else. Maybe I'm just looking for excuses to rationalize my pathetic pay. Anyway... Going to start the most notorious night shift of them all. The TTSH N4. N4 is basically the CT radiographer covering at night. There are an average of 6 - 10 scans at night. N4 is also the shift leader, so the N4 has to take care of nitty gritty stuff like shortage of manpower here and there. N4 covered portables also. Morning rounds cases to be done between 4am to 7am will easily come up to 30. Maybe more. High ah...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Baobei coming back in 3 months! Seeing my Baobei at KingSmith Airport in Sydney was really really therapeutic, all my troubles from work instantly disappeared when I finally realised that I was in Sydney with my darling for a great great holiday to laY back and just enjoy. The rest of the trip was really nice, involving a lot of experiencing darling's life and travelling around Sydney. For the "experiencing darling's life part" I stayed at 99A Frances Street, went grocery and clothing shopping and even crashed her lecture. I must say she's living a really nice and laid back life down under. Sydney is a really beautiful city. One of the most famous things being the Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House. Very charming old time architecture in the cities where the first colonial ships docked at. Weather there was amazing, the sun can be shining real hard on one and one simply doesn't sweat like in Singapore. The nights were really cooling like there's free aircon. Do check out my photos at the link posted earlier.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;After returning from Sydney, I fell really sick with a nasty cough and lots of phlegm . Work wasn't going too comfortably due to post-holiday blues. But I managed to get by, learnt new things in my training and yeah, slowly re-adjusting back to my working professional life. My chronically messy room has just been packed, slightly... still don't know if I should get my new clothes washed, the weather conditions lately have not been very conducive for clothes drying.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Finally lots and lots of readings to catch up with and I have just added one more item to my already very busy schedule.&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6892771-5408394697599702186?l=nuhc.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://nuhc.blogspot.com/feeds/5408394697599702186/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=6892771&amp;postID=5408394697599702186' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/6892771/posts/default/5408394697599702186'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/6892771/posts/default/5408394697599702186'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://nuhc.blogspot.com/2008/03/its-been-one-week-since-my-return-from.html' title=''/><author><name>NuhC</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='http://img2.blogblog.com/img/b16-rounded.gif'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6892771.post-3375886626691842549</id><published>2008-03-15T00:08:00.002+08:00</published><updated>2008-03-15T00:11:16.839+08:00</updated><title type='text'></title><content type='html'>I hung around after work today to watch a very special performance. I'm sleeping at as early as 10pm everyday and waking up at exactly 7am every morning. It may seem very very normal to the average worker, but sleeping at earlier than 11pm has never been possible until I experienced the 3 hours advancement in time in Sydney.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Anyway, I've uploaded a portion of the photos I've taken in Sydney. I'll most prob be busy all week as I'm still trying to catch up with my studies. Lost a whole week in Sydney, this lost was worth it though. Anyway, as I was saying, I'll be busy so no time to post the selected images of the 400 over photos I've taken of Sydney and my darling girlfriend.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Been down with a nasty cough. Super jialat. Cannot concentrate at work. Anyway, I gatecrashed Liping and Carleen's dinner today cos I had no dinner tonight. It was nice to meet up with Carleen good to stay in touch. Especially when I'm the kind who do not invite people out unless they invite me first.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Cough syrup causing my attention to crash. I still don't feel well rested, but I know that it's better than not having the 11 hours of sleep.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Well, this week's going to be hectic. I've got lessons on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I just love weekends. Especially this one. Cos I can sleep in the afternoon for like 2 hours. So shiok and therapeutic. Well, I'm in CT Scan now, which is nice. Workload is heavy, but it surely is good training. Been chronically losing sleep because I really can't sleep properly since my last night shift. Ah, what's new.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'm going to Sydney to find Baobei next week! I'm so happy lah! First week's leave since work started last June. Also, my first trip to Australia and out of Asia. School's starting next week le. Got 3 lessons and one of them is in faraway Commonwealth.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Oh yes! We finally went for the Vermonster at Ben and Jerry's 20 scoops of Ben and JErry's ICe cream! Woohooo... There should've been a better chilling system though, the base was already milkshake when we got to it. But it still really shiok lah. Real big fat disruption to my weight lost program, ah well, it's a feat. Thanks Jeremy, Jonathan, Cai Pei, Peili, Evelyn and Liping who shared this madness with me.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Vermonster?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Vermonster!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_M6uSnj_k90w/R7_9KFZkGdI/AAAAAAAAAd0/-qEOcc2Q08M/s1600-h/IMAG0104.jpg"&gt;&lt;img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_M6uSnj_k90w/R7_9KFZkGdI/AAAAAAAAAd0/-qEOcc2Q08M/s320/IMAG0104.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5170129246934538706" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_M6uSnj_k90w/R7_9A1ZkGcI/AAAAAAAAAds/-k3B4q_s33M/s1600-h/IMAG0103.jpg"&gt;&lt;img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_M6uSnj_k90w/R7_9A1ZkGcI/AAAAAAAAAds/-k3B4q_s33M/s320/IMAG0103.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5170129088020748738" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6892771-8241347066756413905?l=nuhc.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://nuhc.blogspot.com/feeds/8241347066756413905/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=6892771&amp;postID=8241347066756413905' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/6892771/posts/default/8241347066756413905'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/6892771/posts/default/8241347066756413905'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://nuhc.blogspot.com/2008/02/saturday-is-finally-here.html' title=''/><author><name>NuhC</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='http://img2.blogblog.com/img/b16-rounded.gif'/></author><media:thumbnail xmlns:media='http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/' url='http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_M6uSnj_k90w/R7_9KFZkGdI/AAAAAAAAAd0/-qEOcc2Q08M/s72-c/IMAG0104.jpg' height='72' width='72'/><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6892771.post-1116294059096986291</id><published>2008-02-15T00:45:00.002+08:00</published><updated>2008-02-15T00:55:57.085+08:00</updated><title type='text'></title><content type='html'>Happy Valentine's Day. Lonely lonely lonely... Seeing all the couples out there looking so lovey dovey with flowers and stuff. Makes me miss darling alot more. Anyway, to all the couples out there, "Time to get real!" Wat? you were expecting me to say "may your relationship last forever"? Neh... Get real...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Anyway, I went to HTC Care Centre in freaking HarborFront. The care centre was surprisingly small, not many ppl there, maybe it's cos there aren't that many users of HTC products. Or maybe simply the products don't break down that much. Anyway, the experience was excellent. Service was prompt and smooth. Got out of the place within minutes. Ran into my Chua Kok Keng, my good ol buddy. Couldn't imagine that fellow working a proper job and wearing proper working clothes until I saw him just now. The meeting was brief but really nice. Been a while.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Finally, swimming at CSC. Nothing much, but I just can't stop wondering why there are so many lonely ppl (losers) swimming alone on Valentine's Day. Haha.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Chinese New Year's been a rather good one. The year of the pig has been a really nasty one for me. The very fact that I've sprained my ankle on the 3rd day of the year of the pig already says enough. So far, all the mahjong's been not too bad. Nett win, which is really nice, first time in many Chinese New Year (senseless) gambling sessions. Which brings me to another point.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;When to Bernard's (yes my future in charge's) for mahong on the second night of CNY. His place is in Bukit Panjang! Goodness... FAR!! That aside, on the cab ride back, the cabby started a small talk with me. He was telling me that it's very bo hua to travel so far to gamble, win already oso cannot cover the travelling cost. Which is true, I spent all my winning plus a little more on the cab ride. But, then, the point in playing mahjong (at least to me) is not about gambling for money to spend, it's more of the social aspect and the brain training that comes along. Then the uncle was telling me that he plays mahjong with stakes of 1 dollar 2dollar. OMFG, that works out to $96 for a 5 tai zi mo. Then, he lost $300 plus on the first 2 days of CNY. Hmmm... Logically, how does one who earns around $2000 odd a month afford to lose a freaking $300 bucks? Sigh... Gamblers are mad...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Still &lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;HUAT AH!!!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6892771-7559359907457592764?l=nuhc.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://nuhc.blogspot.com/feeds/7559359907457592764/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=6892771&amp;postID=7559359907457592764' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/6892771/posts/default/7559359907457592764'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/6892771/posts/default/7559359907457592764'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://nuhc.blogspot.com/2008/02/wah-i-just-heard-on-radio-that-theres.html' title=''/><author><name>NuhC</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='http://img2.blogblog.com/img/b16-rounded.gif'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6892771.post-5065014824841632413</id><published>2008-02-03T20:20:00.001+08:00</published><updated>2008-02-03T20:25:05.892+08:00</updated><title type='text'></title><content type='html'>Darling's really gone le. I went prawn fishing for the first time ever last Sunday, and I caught ONE prawn! So happy!! Though there are others who caught alot more, I was really happy with my one prawn catch. Haha&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Then, there was Batam with darling. Went to Turi Beach Resort. The Beach is not the phuket kind of super swee beach. Rather, it's the kind that faces freaking Singapore. Anyway, the resort compound was really nice. The surroundings were beautiful and most of all. Quiet. Something I really needed alot. We stayed in one of two deluxe rooms in one big fake atap "hut". It's fake atap because it was really solid wood and a good ceiling, so no leaking and shit. Then, there was a 4 poster bed and TV with Singaporean channels. Oh, and the view from our bed and balcony was really great! Faces the sea! Decided not to take any photos, cos we were lazy and just wanted to slack and absorb the slow slow slow spirit. So it was a really nice and much needed rest, the massage was really good as well. Shiok!! Food wasn't too bad, I've always loved Indonesian food anyway...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Another interesting happening was dinner/supper at Quality Hotel with darling. The famous $8.80 Asian rice/dinner buffet. It was really just "chup chye peng" mixed vegetable rice, with about 15 dishes all going free flow. Of course, there's the famous porridge and the porridge condiments. Really nice and comfortable spread I must say. It's really not for those who like like 30-40 dishes or those buffets with an international variety. All you'll really get is stuff like curry chicken, steam fish, chup chye, hotdogs and ngoh hiang. Of course, all prepared by hotel standard chefs. Thumbs up!&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6892771-5414357162848411134?l=nuhc.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://nuhc.blogspot.com/feeds/5414357162848411134/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=6892771&amp;postID=5414357162848411134' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/6892771/posts/default/5414357162848411134'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/6892771/posts/default/5414357162848411134'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://nuhc.blogspot.com/2008/01/ive-been-living-rather-interestingly.html' title=''/><author><name>NuhC</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='http://img2.blogblog.com/img/b16-rounded.gif'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6892771.post-719084538667591070</id><published>2008-01-12T18:43:00.000+08:00</published><updated>2008-01-12T19:46:50.664+08:00</updated><title type='text'></title><content type='html'>Night shifting. The year 2008 is here and shall I remind bloody Chua Kok Keng that the world still hasn't ended. Anyway...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Went to Boat Quay for a slightly different type of countdown. The idea was to avoid the ridiculous crowds and find a nice place to sit, talk, drink and watch fireworks. Our luck wasn't that good initially. Ended up in MiniPub for a while. But later, we managed to get a river side seat at The Cavern. Where the DJ spun retro hits and cooked up a really nice atmosphere. That was nice. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This is the ridiculous MiniPub&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;img src="http://lh4.google.com/chunmeng/R3nMYkR87GI/AAAAAAAAAZM/S35-7aJ3gM0/Picture%20057.jpg?imgmax=640"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Then, this is The Cavern!&lt;br /&gt; &lt;img src="http://lh5.google.com/chunmeng/R3nMg0R87KI/AAAAAAAAAZs/xePb7WG_LBc/Picture%20062.jpg?imgmax=640"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;img src="http://lh6.google.com/chunmeng/R3nM2ER87TI/AAAAAAAAAa4/JE4_GV4NhcI/Picture%20074.jpg?imgmax=512"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Nice chilling out Countdown. However, for the fireworks, we were blocked by some dumb building. Only saw like green, red, orange and yellow smoke. And about 10% of the fireworks shot. But it was still nice.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And before the countdown. I was at Tampopo in Liang Court, with darling and friends for a nice Japanese dinner. The fried stuff were really good. And the company was nice.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Happy New Year.&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6892771-2029370427904543412?l=nuhc.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://nuhc.blogspot.com/feeds/2029370427904543412/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=6892771&amp;postID=2029370427904543412' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/6892771/posts/default/2029370427904543412'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/6892771/posts/default/2029370427904543412'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://nuhc.blogspot.com/2008/01/happy-new-year-everyone.html' title=''/><author><name>NuhC</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='http://img2.blogblog.com/img/b16-rounded.gif'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6892771.post-5372139327553536355</id><published>2007-12-25T09:11:00.000+08:00</published><updated>2007-12-25T09:21:49.947+08:00</updated><title type='text'></title><content type='html'>Merry Christmas to everyone out there who reads my blog. My Christmas Eve was one with lots of mixed feelings. Some very unpleasant things like drunk idiots and irritating chain phone calls from my mum at the worst timing possible, about super non-essential issues. And a paper cut!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Then, there are the nice ones. Like darling coming over to breakfast with me in the morning, then freaking surprising me at work with a Braun Buffel wallet I've been eyeing and alot of really heavenly pastries to add on to the Xray Dept's Christmas mini party. And to top that all off, she didn't even get to talk to me. Feel so bad, I'm also sorry about better so bad, and appearing so unappreciative, I was really overwhelmed with work then... but thank you darling... Really appreciate it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Hee, may everyone else's Christmas be filled with love too.&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6892771-5372139327553536355?l=nuhc.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://nuhc.blogspot.com/feeds/5372139327553536355/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=6892771&amp;postID=5372139327553536355' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/6892771/posts/default/5372139327553536355'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/6892771/posts/default/5372139327553536355'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://nuhc.blogspot.com/2007/12/merry-christmas-to-everyone-out-there.html' title=''/><author><name>NuhC</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='http://img2.blogblog.com/img/b16-rounded.gif'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6892771.post-2713333455367374346</id><published>2007-12-23T16:00:00.000+08:00</published><updated>2007-12-23T16:39:30.037+08:00</updated><title type='text'></title><content type='html'>Ah, don't you smell Christmas already? Well, Cynthia is back, been having many joyous moments with her. Having her back for Christmas really means alot to me. However, very sadly, I'll be doing night shift on the 23rd, 24th and 25th. Worst of all shift combinations. Oh well, just need to suck it up...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Anyway, we just watched Alvin and The Chipmunks. Haha, would never expect the show to be so nice. Theodore is really cute! Soo fat and chubby... And poor thing... Now I'm listening to the Official Soundtrack. So interestingly cute.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Anyway, the whole of yesterday was spent with darling, doing our Christmas shopping, haiz, finally settled my gift exchange thing, got it wrapped somemore. Orchard was so freaking crowded! All the other senseless shopper trapped in the big time pocket digging by the merchants. Hmm... I should really be on the merchants' end of this food chain.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Anyway, Merry Christmas everyone, do drink and eat with caution. If you have gout, go easy on the meats and beans. If you are drinking, don't drive please!! Remember don't drink till the point where you get alcohol poisoning. Also, try to stay off the roads after drinking. If you want to do any of those, don't do so near my hospital, that includes a faraway land like Sembawang. It's been a long day.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;First thing of today was the StanChart Marathon. It was really good, though I walked alot just to find my way to the starting area. The run was super crowded, needed to take alot of effort to weave in between human bodies. And the distance traveled felt a little short, and boring, maybe cos the route was designed so that we run to and back on the same roads. Repetitive scenery = boring.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My timing was 1hrs and 18 mins. Not counting in the first 5 minutes or so that I struggled to get to the damned starting line. Anyway, I think I'm satisfied. At least I didn't die of acute myocardial infarction. Got my finisher's medal. I hope to do the half marathon in the AHM next mid-year and hopefully be bad to piah the full StanChart marathon. We'll see...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Later, I went to OG with mum, bought myself a new pair of leather shoes and a new contoured latex pillow.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;With the change of pillow and the head and leg reversal of my bed frame, I hope to ELIMINATE my insomnia once and for all. In my old sleeeping position, my head was just a wall away from my brother's comp, which he usually plays all night, so I'm guessing that the EMFs emitted were messing with my mind. Also, when one gets excited with games, one tends to kick and slam the mouse and do whatever. Again, affecting my sleep!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;With the new arrangement, I'm so going to sleep well every night. I want my sleep back, I want my life back. So good night folks... Sweet dreams to everyone and myself.&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6892771-3428295363171860851?l=nuhc.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://nuhc.blogspot.com/feeds/3428295363171860851/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=6892771&amp;postID=3428295363171860851' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/6892771/posts/default/3428295363171860851'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/6892771/posts/default/3428295363171860851'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://nuhc.blogspot.com/2007/12/im-so-tired-now.html' title=''/><author><name>NuhC</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='http://img2.blogblog.com/img/b16-rounded.gif'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6892771.post-3807135995866738772</id><published>2007-12-01T21:33:00.001+08:00</published><updated>2007-12-01T21:40:07.176+08:00</updated><title type='text'></title><content type='html'>I'm very excited about tomorrow's run. I collected my race pack for the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon! So excited, my first of such runs! And I'll be wearing the TTSH colors. We have to wear a special TTSH vest. It's red, but really not ugly. In fact, I kinda like it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It was actually a rather bad day at work. As we all know, I'm still recovering from my recent illness. Some kind of flu, I think. Again, the ED felt cold. Anyway, I did the most ever resus in one morning. And the amazing thing was, even though resus was like full house, all 8 taken. The OBS bay was hosting like 5 beds. Muahahaaa! Strange morning. So I was running to and back from the resus all morning, like a mad dog...did many many multiples, which was kind of satisfying.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I feel so excited to go for a run like now! But I'm scared of dying of sudden cardiac arrest, since I'm like barely recovered for my whatever illness.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Oh ya, do check out the new Eagles album, especially the song, How Long! Sadly, I'm missing the monthly radiographer's meeting again. Anyway, lunch at San Duo in Square 2 was really great! Thuzar, Kathryn, Liping and I spent like 9 bucks each on lunch, but it was really great lunch! I gotta say, the roasted pork, roasted duck and char siew were really good!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Then, I headed with Velocity to buy new swimming stuff. Spent just over $50 on a new pair of trunks and goggles. My old goggles were too old, both the strap and the middle joining piece broke. So yeah, another hefty investment on health, but I guess it'll be all worth it. IF i use them. Ha!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Going for a swim now...&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6892771-6612130338026520348?l=nuhc.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://nuhc.blogspot.com/feeds/6612130338026520348/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=6892771&amp;postID=6612130338026520348' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/6892771/posts/default/6612130338026520348'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/6892771/posts/default/6612130338026520348'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://nuhc.blogspot.com/2007/10/today-was-half-day-for-me.html' title=''/><author><name>NuhC</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='http://img2.blogblog.com/img/b16-rounded.gif'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6892771.post-4107052440336509564</id><published>2007-10-29T00:04:00.000+08:00</published><updated>2008-12-11T15:28:06.569+08:00</updated><title type='text'></title><content type='html'>What a nice and relaxing weekend it was. Saturday night was at House @ Dempsey Hill. What a hill. I love the place! Since before it became so hip! Cos a long time ago, HQ Medical Corp was there. But that's a long time ago. House was a converted barrack. I gotta say that the restaurant cafe side is certainly nice. The Latte was boring, however, the finger food were gooood. The meter long sausage was so good, too salty, but really flavourful and enjoyable. And it's great fun to share with a bunch of friends. Lemme steal a photo from my friend's blog.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;img src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_xkMpJu-hnWs/RyQrGcgsA7I/AAAAAAAAAOI/g1NYDeTi6iQ/s320/DSC01310.JPG"&gt;&lt;img src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_xkMpJu-hnWs/RyQrGsgsA8I/AAAAAAAAAOQ/Z4jSx1jdN4g/s320/DSC01311.JPG"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I gotta say, the DJ spinning music at the pub side of house is really good! He spun some amazing mixes, and the way he flowed from one track to the next was so damn nice. Some young chap, but yeah, we didn't go to the pub side, cos we weren't doing alcohol, but yeah, it was just great listening to those great music from the pub side.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Today was Clarke Quay for Sunday night chilling. It's the first time I got to TTC since the revamp, nice... The last time I was working there, it was quite quiet, but now, the night life there is so exciting, and the place is just so beautiful. Alvin and I decided to take a seat at Haagen Daas. Had ice cream and a nice chat. Been a while... And the entire relaxing atomsphere of Clarke Quay was so charming, and soothing...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Dang, gotta work tomorrow...&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/6892771-4107052440336509564?l=nuhc.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://nuhc.blogspot.com/feeds/4107052440336509564/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=6892771&amp;postID=4107052440336509564' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/6892771/posts/default/4107052440336509564'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/6892771/posts/default/4107052440336509564'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://nuhc.blogspot.com/2007/10/what-nice-and-relaxing-weekend-it-was.html' title=''/><author><name>NuhC</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='http://img2.blogblog.com/img/b16-rounded.gif'/></author><media:thumbnail xmlns:media='http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/' url='http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_xkMpJu-hnWs/RyQrGcgsA7I/AAAAAAAAAOI/g1NYDeTi6iQ/s72-c/DSC01310.JPG' height='72' width='72'/><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6892771.post-5397006156263034582</id><published>2007-10-27T18:12:00.000+08:00</published><updated>2007-10-27T18:17:57.222+08:00</updated><title type='text'></title><content type='html'>My dad is flying off again, don't know how my mum takes it. Darling goes Sydney to study once and I'm already so sian and sad. Dad come home every few months and flies off after a couple of weeks. Anyway, we went for a nice dinner at this traditional Sing Hua restaurant. Nice food, too expensive though.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;On the way back, my brother and I headed to Diginexx. The distributor of foldie bikes in Singapore. Foldies are basically bikes that fold into tiny non space occupying objects when not in use. And since I live so near to TTSH and am getting really sian to walk home everyday, I'm really thinking of cycling to work! On a foldie! Eco-friendly and a good exercise! Anyway, I managed to test ride the Carry Me Pacific and the Strida 3. I loved the handling and feel of the Strida, here's how it looks... &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;img src="http://stridasingapore.com/files/IMG_32.gif"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Damn... You are supposed to get jabbed to prevent yourself from getting it. But for most of us, after the jab, we fall sick. I had massive phlegm production and runny nose. And felt feverish, all day, but that may my psychological. But point being, wth? So we get jabbed to get the Northern Hemisphere flu BEFORE everyone gets it? Hmm... Anyway, it's free, and I'm at the end of the ride.
